BrainDare ("the app") is a quiz app published by Wicked Media ApS ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and what choices you have. The app is intended for people aged 13 and over.
The following stays on your phone and is not sent to us: quizzes you have taken and your scores, statistics per category, your daily challenge progress, streaks, badges, and your settings (sound, reminders, menu options). Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it.
When you open the app, it sends a few events to our server so that we can see how many people use it and which quizzes are popular:

As with any internet connection, your IP address is visible to our server when the app contacts it. We do not store IP addresses, and we do not use them to identify you.
If you uninstall the app or clear its data, a new random ID is created the next time you install it, and the old ID can no longer be connected to you or your phone.
Legal basis (for users in the EU/EEA/UK): our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app.
The app shows ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address and information about your device and how you interact with ads, to show ads and to measure and prevent fraud. We do not receive this information in a form that identifies you.

Some ads are shown after quizzes, and sometimes you can choose to watch a short ad to see your score. Watching is always your choice.
If you turn on reminders, the app asks for permission to show notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. No personal information is sent to us to do this, and you can turn them off at any time in the app menu or in your phone's settings.
The app downloads quizzes, images and settings from our server (braindare.net). This requires an internet connection. The app does not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera or location.
We do not sell personal information. Data is shared only with Google (for ads, see section 4) and with our hosting provider, which stores our server data. If you use the app's Share button, the text you share goes to the app you choose, under that app's own rules.
Anonymous usage statistics are kept for as long as they are useful for understanding how the app is used. Because they are not linked to your identity, they cannot be traced back to you.
Because the statistics use a random ID that we cannot link to you, we generally cannot identify data as yours. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you still have the right to ask about data we may hold about you, and to object to or ask us to delete it, and to complain to your local data protection authority (in Denmark: Datatilsynet). Contact us using the details below.
BrainDare is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete relevant data.
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on our website.
